Who we are

Metrica is a company specialised in the design, development, production, sale and service of measuring instruments in the mechanical, construction and tooling sectors, the longest established in Italy.

Made To Measure sums up its philosophy perfectly: measuring is written in Metrica‘s DNA.

The logistics and administrative headquarters are located in San Donato Milanese, the production sites in Danta di Cadore in the Belluno area and in Arzignano in the
Vicenza, specialising in high-precision mechanics.

Metrica has an in-house Research and Development department.

Many patents have been introduced over the years.

The company was founded in 1949 by Sergio Doriguzzi Bozzo and is now in its third generation. At the helm is Ing. Mario Doriguzzi Bozzo President of the group, flanked by his daughter Margherita and a highly professional team of managers and collaborators.

Metrica is distinguished by its ability to produce analog and digital linear measurement systems for industries such as mechanics, construction, and tooling.

Metrica stands out for its ability to produce analogue and digital linear measuring systems.

A rational approach based on the search for functionality, which characterises all the 1,800 items in Metrica‘s catalogue, is summed up in this phrase by Engineer Mario Doriguzzi: “”Improvements are only made if they benefit the end user.””

Metrica has distinguished itself over the years by numerous product evolutions. Sometimes small details, sometimes real innovations that demonstrate the continuous search for product improvement.

The goal is one: to make the work of those who use Metrica’s measurement instruments easier, faster, and more effective.

THE STORY

Metrica was founded after the war in Danta di Cadore, a small town at an altitude of 1,400 metres in the heart of the Dolomites in the province of Belluno. Here, a few workers gathered around the Founder, Engineer Sergio Doriguzzi Bozzo, began the production of rules (italian ""metri"") and calipers, hence the name Metri Ca.

1949

Metrica develops rapidly, thanks to the economic turmoil and the resumption of industrial production following post-war reconstruction. A new production site is set up in Arzignano in the province of Vicenza and the product range is expanded: spirit levels, squares, thickness gauges, micrometers, bore gauges and dial gauges enter the Metrica catalogue as novelties.

1955

With the arrival in the company of the founder's son, Engineer Mario Doriguzzi, still President of Metrica today, the company began to look towards international development.
Thus, the sales office in Milan was established, a city that had become a nerve centre of the Italian industrial fabric. At the same time Metrica established its presence throughout the country.

1964

The company's commercial development continues. The product range expands to meet the demands of the market, which recognises Metrica as a point of reference. In the same year, the Milan office in Via Pergolesi is established.

1975

Product innovation continues to distinguish Metrica from the competition. The company develops and introduces, among the first in Italy, the technology of pendulum laser levels - pioneers of today's laser levels - instruments capable of substantially simplifying measurement, marking and control operations in the field of building construction.

1990

Growth and the need to expand force the end of Metrica's presence within the urban fabric of the city of Milan. Thus, a new and larger space is created in the industrial area of San Donato Milanese on the outskirts of the city, where Metrica's head office, still today the company's headquarter as well as its logistic and administrative headquarters, is located.

1995

The change continues. The third generation of the Doriguzzi Bozzo family, represented by Margherita Doriguzzi Bozzo, granddaughter of the Founder, enters the company and starts defining strategies to face the challenges of the global market and compete in the emerging digital context.

2002

In order to meet the market's need for timeliness, Metrica installs an automated warehouse at the new headquarters in San Donato Milanese, capable of handling more than 3,000 pallets and ensuring punctuality and rapidity in the fulfilment of orders.

2015

Innovation and technological development never stop responding to market needs. The Metrica FLASH range of distance meters is born, the result of a long research process that began in the 1990s.

2018

The Made To Custom project comes to life, allowing most of the products in the Metrica catalogue to be customised with the customer's logo.

2021

A new and more functional responsive website is launched that allows the download of technical data sheets and product descriptions with the aim of shortening the relationship between customer and company.
